Full-grain pigskin leather is among the supplest and most luxurious of leathers available today. Its velvety texture belies the strength and durability of the material. Our suede bindings are also well known for their tendency to remain soft and supple with use over time.

Only the finest grade hides are selected for Coastal Style's binding. They are milled to increase their softness and flexibility, and the upper surface is lightly buffed to create the suede texture that we call nubuck. The milling process also assures us that the skins are uniform in thickness, allowing us to apply this elegant yet tough leather to your rug with smooth, consistent results.

We use a top-stitched application and mitered corners with our Pigskin bindings. The cost of four mitered corners is included in the applied price of the binding. Note that we cannot create inside corners with our suede bindings, so cut outs are not possible with this collection.

Clean and maintain this binding as you do the rest of the rug. Pigskin has been treated to increase its stain and water resistance, but spills should be sponged up promptly with a clean, absorbent cloth. Do not saturate the Pigskin with water. To remove the imprint of shoes on this soft surface, simply rub the area with a clean, dry cloth.

Other Binding Options:
Double Binding - To frame your rug, select a solid color fabric binding that coordinates with your Pigskin binding. We will apply the fabric on the inside, next to the rug, and surround the outside edges with your leather. This requires eight mitered corner.

More Applications - Use this binding to trim the edges of pillows and upholstery.

Note: Application of our pigskin binding to coir, seagrass, hemp or jute weaves is not recommended.
