Madagascar Sisal Rug Series

Madagascar has long been a Designer favorite. It is woven with a bulky heathered sisal yarn with a tightly woven weft. This creates a beautiful, architecturally neutral color palette with just the right touch of texture.

Madagascar is part of our Textura collection which features East African Sisal grown in Tanzania and Kenya. From an aesthetic standpoint, their bold textures and rich natural colors add visual interest to a room setting without overpowering other elements of your design. While from a practical standpoint, their strong sisal fibers, and flat woven structure allow these rugs to be placed in more heavily traveled rooms with heavy furniture loads as there is no pile to crush.

Madagascar has a heavy latex backing which provides both dimensional stability to the weave and makes further rug padding unnecessary.

The Madagascar series is part of our larger Designer Series collection of Sisal Rugs featuring European sisal weaves custom finished in New England. The Designer Series is produced for us by Merida Meridian with over 30 years experience in natural fiber rugs.

In addition, small variances in color are common in natural fiber materials. Differences in growing climate and conditions from year to year produce plants with slightly different characteristics.
