Usage Notes
- Use in a dry, indoor environment
- Never steam clean or wet shampoo these materials
- All fibers, both dyed and undyed, will change over time - especially when exposed to direct sunlight
- All plant fibers will reflect certain natural variations such as those in color or fiber thickness
- Pattern Differences of up to 2" in the warp and weft can occur due to variations in fibers
The Valente sisal rugs are woven in Brazil in a very hefty boucle weave weighing over six pounds per square yard. Valente is part of our APAEB collection which is a Brazilian sisal farming cooperative that through community effort with an eye to advancing production methodologies as well as conservation of the few natural resources available, has helped to provide an opportunity for a better life for people of this under served region.
Valente is available in three colorways which mix natural and dyed sisal fibers in thick yarns in a very heavy, but classic boucle weave. The rug has a natural latex backing that is applied at nearly a pound per square yard and provides a slip resistant backing. These rugs are available as broadloom or as custom rugs in any of our designer series border collections.

Valente is part of our Designer Series which includes sisal rugs woven in Belgium, and finished as custom rugs in New England by the skilled craftsmen of Merida Meridian who have been working with custom natural fiber rugs since the nineteen seventies. Other natural fiber rugs in the Designer Series include weaves in sisal wool blends, jute, seagrass, hemp, woven paper and woven paper wool blends.

Coastal Style does its best to display accurate colors online, but the simple fact remains that on-screen color representations may vary from the actual rug due to differences in computer display properties. In addition, small variances in color are common in natural fiber materials. Differences in growing climate and conditions from year to year produce plants with slightly different characteristics. We recommend that you purchase samples prior to ordering.
